COMBITHERM
Thermal air cargo covers
Transportation from producer to final destination involves several critical moments with a high risk of the cold chain being broken.
Combitherms air cargo covers provide increased control over the temperature of pharmaceutical products and medicines, regardless of whether this is for shorter or longer shipments.
The distinctive feature of Combitherm air cargo covers is that they are covered with a metallised surface, which provides effective protection against sunlight and reflects 97% of solar radiation. This significantly reduces the risk of heating the surfaces.
Combitherm air cargo covers have been developed with a focus on quality and durability. They are part of our range of thermal covers, which provide effective protection against temperature fluctuations.
The thermal solution is based on strong three-layer construction of an outer foil, an effective Polywool® insulating and an inner foil, which all together ensure that valuable medicine are kept at the desired temperature interval during all stages of transport.
Individual design and high flexibility ensure easy protection of temperature-sensitive goods and provide extra insulation value.
Combitherm air cargo covers are produced to fit EU pallets (80x120 cm), ½EU pallets (60x80 cm), US pallets (100x120 cm) and PMC pallets (244x322 cm).
The height of the covers are customised to specific requirements, just as the covers can be manufactured without openings and with 1, 2 or 4 openings closed with hook/loop.
An uncompromising choice of materials and a proven design mean that Combitherm air cargo covers have a long lifespan and can be reused time and time again.
Polywool insulation consisting of 78% recycled fibres helps to increase sustainability and overall the effective insulating ability means that the air cargo covers are an economically sound alternative to active cooling units.
Case: DHL
“In connection with pharmaceutical transport, we operate under GDP, a strict set of rules, where we must at all times be able to document that we comply with the requirements for correct temperature during the entire transport process. Here, the covers from Combitherm are an optimal solution. They meet our requirements for protection against huge temperature fluctuations on the tarmacm they are easy to handle and they are an economically good alternative to active refrigeration units,” says Hanne Reher.
Case: PharmaNord
“We work within the product groups of medicines, vitamins and dietary supplements, and therefore work with very high quality standards in our company. We must therefore also control how the products reach the customer. By using Combitherms thermal covers, we have even better assurance that our shipments comply with the temperature limits during transport,” says Claus Hansen, Supply Chain Manager and Chief Financial Officer at Pharma Nord.
