History Matters
Combitherm was founded in 1979 as the world's first manufacturer of three-layer thermal insulation and started by producing exclusively thermal bags. The company's current owner, Henrik Christoffersen, entered the business in 1991 as the finance manager. In 1995, he took over half of the company and acquired the other half from the partner Jørck & Larsen A/S in 2010.
Since 1979, the company's revenue and number of employees have multiplied many times over. Combitherm has repeatedly been appointed as a Gazelle company and has achieved an AAA-rating in creditworthiness for 10 consecutive years. In addition, the company has been awarded a series of prizes and accolades, most recently the Dansk Industri Silkeborg Initiative Award in 2017.
In 2018, Combitherm was divided into two independent companies, allowing each unit to focus on and develop their respective product areas. Combitherm Consumer A/S continues with the production of thermal bags, while the product portfolio at Combitherm A/S has grown significantly.
Today, Combitherm is one of Europe's leading players in the manufacture of flexible, customsed, and energy-saving thermal solutions for a wide range of industries where temperature-sensitive goods and processes require efficient protection against temperature changes. Our main products include thermal covers, concrete-, winter-, and asphalt mats, as well as blade covers, which are all developed and produced at our factory in Them near Silkeborg.
Combitherm is a company that can adapt quickly. This gives us a valuable competitive edge. Our employees are adept at swiftly converting production – that flexibility is a great strength for us.
Jens Elisius Christensen
Head of Sales
The company's positive development is based on a clear strategy to ensure that our customers' products are optimally protected through sustainable solutions at competitive prices. Our ambition is to be a flexible, innovative, and adaptable partner, not only adjusting to existing customers but also actively seeking new markets and potential clients. Our goal is to deliver sustainable, world-class thermal solutions that precisely meet the unique needs of each customer.
We have an ambitious growth strategy for the coming years, with a particular focus on the export markets within the pharma and food sectors, as well as continuous development and optimisation of processes.
We have high growth ambitions for the next few years and therefore focus on expanding exports abroad. We first look at nearby markets such as Germany, Norway, and Sweden and will start within the pharma industry but also the concrete industry. We have gained a foothold with some of the largest precast concrete factories on the German market and they have become aware of how effectively Combitherms concrete duvets stabilise the temperature in the curing process. We will develop this market even more over the next few years.
Torben Hallstrup
CEO
