Combitherm A/S has never been busier than last year, but despite record sales, rising costs have exceeded the slight decline in revenue.
Things have gone really well for Combitherm A/S, which increased sales by a good 20 percent last year. The gross profit has grown from just under DKK 17 million to around DKK 19 million. The bottom line was DKK 2.6 million compared to DKK 3.8 million in the previous year.
“We have had a very busy year and record sales. Like so many others, we were affected by price increases for our raw materials and were bound to fixed price agreements with a number of customers at the same time. Moreover, we hired additional staff due to increased activity and the implementation of a new strategy, and the overall picture shows that we made less money than the increase in sales might indicate,” says COO Torben Hallstrup, who is of course not satisfied that the end result does not reflect the sales success. The company employs around 30 people and has equity of DKK 11 million.
Combitherm introduced a new strategy for growth last year, which includes a greater focus on developing increased sustainability. This led to a series of initiatives within the company.
“We have taken several steps to optimise our production process, we have reached agreements with other companies regarding reusing our residual foil and insulation materials, we drive electric cars, as well as a number of other measures that make operations more environmentally and climate-friendly,” says Torben Hallstrup, adding that the company has signed up to be designated as a climate-ready manufacturing company. Among other things, this means that a climate statement will be created next year.
In terms of the market, the company has gained a good foothold in the German market, especially in the German construction sector, and is focusing on further developing the next export markets, with further growth in mind overall:
“We will continue to grow. We would like to develop new markets and new product lines – we have bold ambitions,” he says.
